Job Description:
As a Baker at Yoshi Japanese Restaurant, you will play a pivotal role in preparing a variety of baked goods that complement the restaurant’s menu. This position involves working in a fast-paced restaurant environment where precision, creativity, and adherence to quality standards are essential. You will be responsible for preparing dough, batters, and icings, as well as decorating cakes and pastries to meet both standard and special customer orders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dough and Batter Preparation: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods. Mix batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, ensuring consistency and quality according to recipes or special customer requests.
- Baking: Bake mixed dough and batters, ensuring that all products meet established quality standards.
- Training: Train kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, and handling of baked goods, ensuring they adhere to proper techniques and safety standards.
- Special Orders: Handle and fulfill special orders with attention to detail, providing customized products to meet customer preferences.
- Decorating: Frost and decorate cakes and other baked goods, showcasing creativity and skill in presentation.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality of baked products, ensuring they meet the restaurant’s high standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: Between 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in baking is preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with a variety of baking techniques and recipes is essential.
- Personal Attributes: Ability to handle repetitive tasks with precision, a keen eye for quality, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in food preparation.

- Setting: The role is based in a restaurant setting, requiring the ability to work in a busy and dynamic environment.
