Job Overview:

Rogers Sports & Media is seeking a Part-Time Camera Operator/Editor to join their team at Rogers Communications, located at 33 Dundas St E, Toronto, ON. This role is essential for the CityNews/OMNI Television brands, focusing on capturing and editing news content in the field to enhance engagement with digital audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Field Coverage: Travel across Toronto to cover various events, interviews, and newsworthy visuals.
  • Content Creation: Creatively capture and edit content including interviews, events, and other relevant footage. Use field-based hardware/software to produce content suitable for broadcast and digital platforms.
  • Collaboration: Work with journalists to complete daily assignments and review gathered content.
  • Digital Engagement: Strengthen the digital presence by transmitting content to cloud-based platforms and engaging with audiences through live streaming.
  • Editorial Contribution: Generate story ideas and monitor digital/social media trends. Troubleshoot technical issues and ensure content meets broadcast standards.
  • Content Delivery: Format and deliver content (jpg, mov, mp4, etc.) with necessary elements on deadline. Utilize newsroom software for building keys and graphic elements.
