Key Responsibilities:
As a Cashier, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Cash Register Operations: Efficiently operate the cash register, ensuring all transactions are processed accurately.
- Payment Processing: Handle various forms of payment, including cash, cheques, and credit/debit card transactions. You will need to ensure that all payments are accurately recorded and processed.
- Scanning and Tabulating: Scan items for purchase and tabulate the total payment for goods or services, ensuring that each transaction is completed smoothly.
- Payment Reception: Receive payments for goods and services, providing customers with receipts and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Daily Reconciliation: Calculate daily and shift payments received, reconciling them with total sales at the end of each shift to maintain financial accuracy.
- Stock Management: Assist in stocking shelves and keeping the counter area clean and organized. This is essential for providing a pleasant shopping experience for our customers.
- Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly as they enter and exit the store, creating a welcoming environment.
- Merchandise Handling: Wrap or place merchandise in bags for customers and weigh produce and bulk foods as required.
Qualifications:
While no formal education or certification is required for this position, candidates should have a good command of the English language. Experience in a similar role is not necessary, as we are willing to train the right individual.
Work Environment:
The position requires working approximately 40 hours per week in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Cashier, you will interact with customers frequently, making strong interpersonal skills an asset.
