Job Responsibilities:
As a Dairy Farm Worker, you will be involved in a wide range of tasks critical to the daily operations of the farm. Your responsibilities will include:
- Animal Care: Handle animals with care, monitor the calving process, and oversee the health and well-being of the cattle.
- Feeding and Maintenance: Feed and tend to the animals, operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, and clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens.
- Crop Management: Fertilize and spray crops, harvest crops, and track and report on current feed inventory. Additionally, you will handle tasks related to weeding and the maintenance of grain, oil, and forage crops.
- Health Monitoring: Detect disease and health issues in livestock, crops, and poultry, and perform general farm duties to ensure smooth operations.
- Administrative Tasks: Maintain work records and logs, write daily basic progress reports, and prepare cattle for exhibition as needed.
Work Environment:
The role is based in a rural area and involves working outdoors under all weather conditions. Candidates should be comfortable with the presence of typical farm odours and should be prepared for the physical demands of the job.
Qualifications:
- Education: No formal degree, certificate, or diploma is required.
- Experience: 1 to less than 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Language: Proficiency in English is required.
Supervision:
You will be responsible for supervising 1 to 2 other staff members.
