Position Overview:
The City of Red Deer invites applications for the role of Facility Program Assistant – Slide Attendant at its bustling waterpark. Key Responsibilities:
- Patron Interaction: Your role involves direct engagement with waterpark visitors, where you’ll offer clear directions and educational guidance about the facility’s amenities and safety practices. You’ll be instrumental in enhancing the overall guest experience by providing exceptional customer service and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Safety Monitoring: One of your primary duties will be to monitor specific areas within the waterpark. This involves vigilant observation to ensure that all safety protocols are followed, preventing accidents and ensuring a secure environment for both children and adults.
- Emergency Response: In the event of an emergency, your training in first aid and emergency procedures will come into play. You’ll be expected to respond swiftly and effectively to any incidents, providing first aid when necessary and assisting in managing emergency situations with professionalism and calm.
- Maintenance Duties: To maintain a clean and welcoming environment, you will assist with daily cleaning tasks and facility upkeep. This includes managing waste, performing routine checks on equipment, and ensuring that all areas of the waterpark are hygienic and well-maintained.
- Program Support: Support various programs and activities within the waterpark, contributing to the smooth operation of scheduled events and activities. This role requires flexibility and a proactive approach to addressing the needs of both patrons and facility operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: A minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent is required. Applicants must also be at least 15 years old.
- Certifications: The role necessitates a Bronze Cross Certification and an Intermediate First Aid Certificate. These qualifications ensure that you are well-prepared to handle both routine and emergency situations effectively.
- Experience: Strong customer service skills are crucial for this position. You should possess a high level of verbal, written, and listening skills to communicate effectively with guests and team members.

Work Schedule:
