Key Responsibilities:
- Image and Design Transformation: Utilize advanced retouching systems, graphic palettes, and specialized software to transform digitized images. This involves working with various tools like Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat to ensure high-quality outputs.
- Photograph Management: Mount and scan photographs, ensuring accurate digital conversion and quality maintenance.
- Page Layout and Design: Design and layout pages for various materials, including print advertisements, product packaging, and signs or billboards. You will set type for printing and produce project designs based on conceptual mock-ups provided.
- Production Coordination: Oversee all aspects of production for print, audio-visual, or electronic materials. This includes operating and monitoring printing machines during runs, making necessary adjustments, and arranging for project printing and publication.
- Digital and Print Media: Digitize images using peripherals and perform layout and page make-up. Produce computerized images and drawings, and review instructions from graphic designers to ensure alignment with project goals.
- Equipment Operation: Operate photographic enlarging equipment to produce prints and enlargements from negatives. Load printers with paper and forms, and manage various types of production art including general production art, signs, and forms.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Acrobat Reader is crucial. Familiarity with MS Windows and color printers is also required. Previous experience in graphic design, technical illustration, or commercial art is an asset.
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary for interacting with team members and clients effectively. Attention to detail and the ability to distinguish between colors are essential.
- Work Environment: This role requires working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines. The ability to work under pressure, coupled with strong hand-eye coordination, is important.
