Overview:
DECIEM, renowned as “The Abnormal Beauty Company” and the parent company of popular brands such as The Ordinary and NIOD, is on the lookout for a Junior Videographer & Editor. This full-time role is based in Toronto, ON, with a hybrid work model allowing 3 to 4 days in the office each week. DECIEM is a trailblazer in the beauty industry, known for its innovative and transparent approach to beauty products. As part of the DECIEM team, you will play a key role in producing and editing engaging video content that aligns with the company’s vision of authenticity and creativity.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Production Support: Assist the Videographers with research and preparation for video projects. Collaborate with the Head of Video & Sound, Videographers, and cast members to ensure all project needs are met.
- Content Creation: Create video content tailored for social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Meta. This includes shooting and editing videos to enhance DECIEM’s digital presence.
- Studio Management: Prepare and organize the studio and equipment for scheduled productions. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the studio space and keep track of the master equipment list.
- Material Sourcing: Source materials, props, and resources needed for video and photography projects. Operate professional camera equipment and perform basic post-production tasks such as assistant editing, coloring, and exporting projects.
- Social Media Projects: Handle small video projects for social media or internal use, contributing to the overall content strategy and visual storytelling.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Creativity & Visual Design: Strong expertise in visual design and a creative approach to video production.
- Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of professional video and audio equipment, along with a basic understanding of cinematography, video framing, color theory, and audio production.
- Industry Trends: Awareness of current trends in content creation, particularly for social media and advertising.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
