Job Summary:
The U.S. Army War College is seeking a qualified Library Technician to support library operations at Carlisle Barracks, PA. This position offers a competitive salary and is integral to enhancing library services for patrons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance library products, services, and programs.
- Schedule library patrons using automated systems.
- Engage in public relations through informal interactions with patrons and professionals.
- Perform circulation functions, including checking out materials and registering new patrons.
Qualifications:
- Who May Apply: U.S. Citizens.
- Specialized Experience for GS-06: One year of experience equivalent to GS-05 level, including tasks such as:
- Checking library materials in and out.
- Managing patron records in automation systems.
- Assisting patrons in locating materials and information.
- Specialized Experience for GS-07: One year of experience equivalent to GS-06 level, including tasks such as:
- Performing circulation functions.
- Cataloging library materials.
- Creating educational materials for library programs.
- Assisting patrons with automation systems.
Conditions of Employment:
- Appointment may be subject to a background investigation.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.
- Occasional travel required (not to exceed 5% yearly).
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
