Role Summary
As a Retail Store Associate at Marshalls, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the store. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of tasks including assisting customers, managing merchandise, and maintaining store standards. You will be the face of Marshalls, providing a welcoming and efficient shopping experience while contributing to the overall success of the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service: Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner. Be knowledgeable about merchandise, including items, prices, and brands. Provide information on promotions, store policies, and events, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Merchandise Management: Process daily shipments, organize, and set up the warehouse area. Ensure that all merchandise is received and processed efficiently, and maintain high standards for merchandise presentation.
- Transaction Processing: Demonstrate excellent customer service skills while handling refunds, exchanges, and purchases in accordance with company guidelines. Ensure accuracy and efficiency in all transactions.
- Fitting Room Assistance: Manage fitting room duties, ensuring the counter area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Assist customers with fitting room inquiries and maintain a pleasant fitting room experience.
- Store Maintenance: Support various store operations, including maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the store. Contribute to the overall presentation and functionality of the retail environment.
What You’ll Need
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
- Skills: Excellent customer service, communication (both verbal and written), and time management skills are essential. Ability to effectively set up and maintain a warehouse environment is also required.
- Experience: Previous retail experience is beneficial but not mandatory. A willingness to learn and a positive attitude towards customer service are key.
- Availability: Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, is necessary to meet the store’s needs.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and move merchandise, and perform various physical tasks as required.
Hourly Wage
The expected hourly wage for this position ranges from $16.55 to $17.55 per hour. This range represents the typical hiring rate and may vary based on factors such as relevant skills, experience, and local labor market conditions. The final pay rate offered will reflect these considerations.
