Position: Rivernotes Blog Editor
Location: Chamcook, NB
Salary: $500 per week


The Atlantic Salmon Federation (ASF) is excited to announce an opening for the Rivernotes Blog Editor for the 2025 angling season. This position is a fantastic opportunity for those passionate about journalism and the outdoors. The successful candidate will manage the production and publication of 23 weekly editions of Rivernotes, which offers vital updates on angling conditions, news, and stories from Atlantic salmon rivers across eastern North America.

Job Details

Rivernotes is a weekly blog published on asf.ca during the angling season, which runs from late April to the end of October. Each edition is crucial in providing timely and engaging content from various regions, including New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Maine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Research and write engaging blog posts that highlight angling conditions and stories from different regions.
  • Publication Schedule: Ensure that each edition is published every Thursday morning, with an accompanying mass email distribution.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Director of Marketing and the Communications and Marketing Department to ensure quality and coherence in messaging.

Time Commitment

The role requires approximately 12 hours of work per edition, making it a part-time position perfect for those looking to supplement their income while doing what they love.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Experience in writing, editing, and photo editing.
  • A background in blog publication or similar content management roles.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage deadlines and workflows efficiently.
