Overview
Apple is seeking a Software Engineer to join the App Intents and Shortcuts team. This role focuses on developing the frameworks and experiences that enhance user interaction across Apple’s devices. You will work on foundational technologies that enable seamless integration into users’ lives, contributing to the Apple Intelligence ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop APIs and Features: Design and implement new features and APIs within the App Intents framework. Work on the Shortcuts app and the underlying infrastructure.
- Collaborate with Teams: Partner with cross-functional teams to build compelling features and interfaces, ensuring effective communication between software components.
- Solve Technical Challenges: Address interesting technical challenges by writing robust, scalable code. Focus on software architecture and maintaining high-quality standards in your work.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct iterative reviews of APIs with experts, ensuring they meet the necessary standards before being presented to developers at events like WWDC.
- User Experience Focus: Ensure that the code you develop surprises and delights users, maintaining attention to detail and user-centric design.
Qualifications
Required Experience:
- 4+ years of software development experience in Objective-C or Swift.
- Proficiency with essential development tools, including Xcode, lldb, Instruments, and git.
- Experience designing clean, well-abstracted interfaces between software components.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with SiriKit, App Intents, or similar programmable automation APIs.
- Familiarity with creating user interfaces using UIKit, AppKit, or SwiftUI.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this role ranges from $175,800 to $312,200, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:
