Position Overview

The Bank of Canada is seeking a Student for a Video Production role, ideal for those aiming to build a career in video content creation. This role offers a substantial chance to collaborate with a diverse team including designers, content strategists, videographers, developers, and product managers to produce the Bank’s digital publications and products. If you’re currently studying television broadcasting, interactive multimedia, digital media, or a related field, and are looking forward to gaining practical experience, this position could be a great fit for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Video Production: Shoot, edit, and develop engaging video content to support both internal and external communication campaigns of the Bank.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with a cross-functional team to deliver high-quality digital content.
  • Communication: Ensure frequent and clear communication with team members to effectively execute projects.

Qualifications

  • Educational Requirements: Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in television broadcasting, interactive multimedia, digital media, or a related field at a college or university, and be returning to school in the next academic term.
  • Skills and Experience:
  • Advanced knowledge of video and photography tools and techniques.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Excellent communication skills and a self-driven work ethic.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and willingness to learn in a fast-evolving environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet future challenges.

Preferred Assets

  • Understanding of web technologies including HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Basic design, typography, and UX skills.
  • A portfolio showcasing your video work (if available).

Language Requirement

  • Proficiency in either English or French is essential.

Additional Information

  • Citizenship and Residency: Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents.
  • Security Clearance: Candidates must be eligible to obtain Reliability security clearance.
  • Relocation: No relocation assistance will be provided.
  • Hybrid Work Model: The Bank supports a hybrid work arrangement, allowing substantial telework from home while requiring on-site presence at least eight days per month to foster team connections. Applicants must be based in Canada within reasonable commuting distance of the Ottawa office.

Compensation

  • Hourly Rate: $27.08 (Job Grade: Student C)
