Overview:
Extendicare is looking for a dedicated Unit Clerk to join their team in St. Paul, AB. Key Responsibilities:
- Communication and Coordination: Answer, transfer, or take messages from telephone calls. Facilitate resident appointments and transportation, and ensure that relevant information is communicated effectively.
- Documentation and Administrative Support: Prepare transfer packages for residents moving to another facility and ensure that appropriate forms are available to staff. Label clothing and belongings for new admissions, and prepare admission documents and labels.
- Clerical Duties: Assist the Director of Care (DOC) in collecting statistical information and preparing reports. Maintain resident files and active records in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Supply Management: Review and organize delivered nursing supplies and resident supplies. Order and put away all necessary supplies, ensuring that they are readily available.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean oxygen concentrators and other equipment as needed. Perform weekly Wanderguard checks to ensure resident safety.
- Health Care Assistance: Provide support in tasks such as blood work and enter relevant information into resident charts when required.

- Organizational Abilities: Ability to manage tasks efficiently, handle interruptions, and complete duties in a timely manner.
- Computer Skills: Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new programs and tasks. Experience with relevant software is a plus.
