Job Description:
As a Vegetable Farm Worker at P & C Farms Inc., you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful cultivation and harvesting of vegetables. The position requires working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment. You will be responsible for various tasks related to the management of crops and maintenance of the greenhouse, contributing to the overall productivity of the farm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivation and Harvesting: Participate in the cultivation process using vertical farming systems and assist with hand-harvesting vegetables. Manage the growth of vines and plants, including potting, re-potting, and planting seedlings.
- Greenhouse Maintenance: Clean and maintain the greenhouse environment, ensuring optimal conditions for plant growth. Report any signs of insect or disease damage promptly.
- Soil and Plant Management: Mix and prepare soils for planting. Assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants to promote healthy growth.
- Work Area Management: Keep work areas clean and organized. Handle and manage a large workload, including heavy lifting and performing repetitive tasks.
Work Environment and Conditions:
- Physical Demands: The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, and kneel. You will also need to handle heavy loads and work in hot conditions.
- Work Pace: The environment is fast-paced with tight deadlines, demanding attention to detail and effective hand-eye coordination.
