Job Overview:
Red Deer Polytechnic is currently seeking Visual Art Models for their School of Arts and Education. This casual, on-call position involves posing for art classes where students will use the model’s image for drawing, painting, or sculpting. The role offers an hourly wage of $17.98 and requires a commitment to varying schedules based on class needs.

Job Description:
As a Visual Art Model at Red Deer Polytechnic, you will be an integral part of the creative process for students in the Visual Arts Diploma, Bachelor of Fine Arts (University Transfer), Bachelor of Applied Arts – Animation and Visual Effects, and Bachelor of Applied Arts – Film, Theatre, and Live Entertainment programs. Your primary responsibility will be to pose in various positions, either clothed or unclothed, as required by the instructor. Sessions may involve full-body or portrait modelling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Posing: Follow directions from the art class instructor to pose in different positions, both clothed and unclothed, as needed for the class.
  • Flexibility: Adapt to different modelling requirements including nude and clothed sessions.
  • Duration: Remain still for extended periods during each session to provide accurate references for student work.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Ability to follow directions and remain still for long periods. No previous modelling experience is required.
  • Preferred: Previous experience as a model can be beneficial but is not necessary.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly Wage: $17.98 per hour.
  • Additional Compensation: An extra 15% of the hourly rate in lieu of vacation, statutory holidays, and benefits.
  • Employment Type: Casual, part-time, on a call-in basis.
