About the Position:

Interior Health Authority is seeking a dedicated and energetic Volunteer Coordinator to join our Adult Day Services and Volunteer Services team in Kelowna, BC. This part-time position offers an hourly wage between $30.20 and $31.89 and is designed for individuals passionate about community engagement and volunteer management. The role involves overseeing the daily operations of the volunteer program, including recruitment, training, and supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Volunteer Coordinator, your primary duties will include:

  • Program Management: Implement and oversee the day-to-day operations of the volunteer program across multiple sites. This includes setting and meeting pre-established goals and objectives for the program.
  • Recruitment and Training: Recruit, screen, interview, select, and train volunteers. Determine and address training needs for new volunteer positions to ensure effective participation.
  • Volunteer Placement and Scheduling: Match volunteer skills with available opportunities, and create and manage volunteer work schedules. Liaise with managers to ensure volunteers are effectively integrated into their roles.
  • Program Coordination: Develop and implement retention strategies and recognition programs for volunteers. Ensure the overall performance and impact of the volunteer program.

Work Schedule:

This is a Permanent Part-Time position (0.52 FTE) with shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Daytime hours are flexible, with shifts ranging from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A diploma in Community Social Service plus two years of recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Driver’s License: A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License is required.
